Puzzle Update 3-2-3013

We have 24 pieces sponsored!  We are working to raise our third agency payment of $2600.  If we could get sponsors for the remaining 228 puzzle pieces, we would have most of what we need to pay that agency payment.  If you would like to sponsor a piece in honor of your family, now is a great time to do so.  Only $10 to sponsor a piece and it means so much to us to see the names of the people who love our daughter before even knowing who she is!  Thank you all for your love and support.

 

 

DTC!!!!

Today we are officially DTC (Dossier To China)!  This means that the packet of paperwork and documents we have been collecting for the last 4 1/2 months is finally on the way to China!  Now we wait for LID (Log In Date) which should take about three weeks.  Once we are logged in, we will wait for a referral for our daughter!!!

Puzzle Update 2-22-2013

We have 14 pieces of the puzzle sponsored so far!  We will slowly reveal the image as we receive sponsors.  238 pieces to go!

My first sewing project

I'm so excited about my very first sewing project....Ruffle Pants!!

I have always wanted to learn to sew and now that we will finally have a little girl I thought this would be the perfect time to learn.  I was able to make these with the help of a friend who is a pro at making little girls clothes.  I may get brave and try to make another pair on my own as my next project, but I definately want to make a cute top to go with these (with her help).  Since we don't have a referral for our daughter yet we don't really know what size she will be, so I just made these in a 2T and I hope she will get to wear them! 

Puzzle Fundraiser

I saw this fundraiser idea on several other adoption blogs and I knew I wanted to do a puzzle fundraiser at some point during our adoption.  I finally found a design that was very close to what I had in mind and we were able to customize the design and have it printed onto a 252 piece puzzle.

For $10 you can sponsor a piece of the puzzle and we will write your name on the back.  You can sponsor one piece and have your family name on the back of a piece or you can sponsor a piece for each family member.  We will asseble the puzzle as we receive sponsors and once it is complete we will frame it in a double sided glass frame to hang in our daughter's room.

 This will give us a beautiful decoration for our daughter's room, and we will be able to show her one day how so many others helped bring her home.  I can't wait to read all of those names to her!

We have about $4350 in fees due when we receive our approval from immigration (2-3 months or less).  I have added a couple of links to the right side of the blog to help raise some of these funds. 

Amazon Search Box ~ If you shop on Amazon, please use the search box on our blog and we will receive a small percentage from each purchase made through this link.  You can still log into your Amazon Prime account, you will just be helping us at the same time!  Just add our blog to your "favorites" and it will be just as easy as going to Amazon.com. 

Just Love Coffee ~ All of you coffee drinkers, please consider trying this coffee.  We will receive about $5 for every bag of coffee purchased through this link.  You can even join the coffee club and have your favorite coffee delivered to your house at regular intervals.

Where We Are Now...

Several people have asked where we are in the process so I thought I would give an update.  Our home study was complete on Thursday 12/27 and we sent our I-800A to immigration on Friday 12/28.  The I-800A is to approve us to adopt a child from another country.  We may wait up to 2-3 months for this approval but we are praying it will come much sooner.  Once we receive approval from immigration, we will begin getting the documents for our dossier authenticated so that we can send our dossier to china.  For those who are wondering what a dossier is, this is all of the paperwork and documents we have been gathering that will go to China so we can adopt our little girl!  It will take about 2-3 weeks to get everything authenticated once we receive immigration approval.  I know this is all so confusing if you don't know how the adoption process works but all of you adoptive moms out there know how exciting this is!!  We are so close to having everything done so that we can find out who our child is!  I will update our progress once we move on to the next step.  Please pray that our immigration approval will come very soon.
